You know when you go down the dessert aisle and you see these cupcakes with the swirly pink frosting? I want to make that kind of frosting. Not the leaky ones. Please Help.
Oh so do you have any yummy frosting recipes that worked great for you to share?

I enjoy this frosting recipe :

Ingredients
1/2 cup butter, softened
4-1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
5 to 6 tablespoons 2% milk
Food Coloring (if desired)
Directions
In a large bowl, cream butter until light and fluffy. Beat in the confectioners’ sugar, vanilla and enough milk to achieve desired consistency. Yield: About 3 cups

You can make variations of it –
Easy Almond Buttercream Frosting: Prepare as directed above, use 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon almond extract instead of the vanilla. Yield: about 3 cups.
Easy Chocolate Buttercream Frosting: Prepare as directed above, except use 4 cups confectioners’ sugar, 1/2 cup baking cocoa and 6-7 tablespoons milk. Yield: about 3 cups.
Easy Lemon Buttercream Frosting: Prepare as directed above, except use 5-6 tablespoons lemon juice instead of the milk and 1 teaspoon grated peel. Yield: about 3 cups.
Easy Orange Buttercream Frosting: Prepare as directed above, except use 5-6 tablespoons orange juice instead of the milk and add 1 teaspoon grated orange peel. Yield: about 3 cups.
Easy Peanut Butter Frosting: Prepare as directed above, except use 1/2 cup peanut butter instead of the butter and use 6-8 tablespoons milk. Yield: about 3 cups.
Easy Peppermint Buttercream Frosting: Prepare as directed above, except use 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon peppermint extract instead of the vanilla. Yield: about 3 cups

I usually make this frosting and make the lemon variant of it. I love all things lemon. I usually top cupcakes with this and sometimes I’ll top brownies with it too.

    This is so easy, yet delicious. All you do is get a stick or two (depending on how much cupcakes you are making) of butter, and just beat it with powdered sugar. For one stick of butter, I used more than 1 cup of powdered sugar. But, you just keep adding and tasting it until you like the taste. The consistency is thick and creamy!

    It sounds like you want butter-cream frosting. This is by far the simplest recipe for butter-cream frosting I have found :

    125g/4.5oz butter, softened
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    300g/10.6oz icing sugar
    1 tablespoon milk

    1. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and vanilla. Blend in the sugar, a quarter at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the milk and continue mixing until light and fluffy.

    Note: If you are adding food coloring only add a drop and add an extra tablespoon of icing sugar.
